MTur Macro programs, programs and actions

The actions and programs thought, planned and developed by the Ministry of Tourism along the last four years have generated more jobs and income all over the country.

Transports logistics

Transport is a fundamental component of tourism activity and, therefore, it was introduced in this new 2007/2010 macro program, as a specific thematic axle due to its importance to the development of such activity in the country.

Information and Tourism Studies

Information is a strategic tool to the development of any activity and tourism assumes a fundamental role, either regarding the programmatic management for the decision of investments at the destinations, domestic and international markets, or the operation itself of the productive chain. This requires a continuous program that not only prospects the structure of destinations under the supply and demand optics but also establishes a system which enables the evaluation of the social and economic, cultural and environmental impacts of the activity and assists in the decision making, by creating conditions to the strengthening of the sector’s sustainability.

Planning and Management

It articulates the several public and private sectors related to the activity, in the sense of sharing decisions, expedite solutions, eliminate bureaucratic hassles and facilitate the participation by all those involved in the sector’s growing process. The national Secretariat of Tourism Policies (SNPTur) then establishes a planning and management interface within the internal and external environments –including the federal, state, municipal, regional and macro regional spheres, the international organizations, besides the private entities and non-government organizations, to strengthen the channels representing the shared management of tourism.

Public Infrastructure

Developing tourism in the regions having supply and demand presupposes providing municipalities with an adequate infrastructure for the expansion of the activity and the improvement of the products and services offered. This is a fundamental condition for the quality of tourism products and the services rendered by the private sector. The carrying out of projects and the relevance to the improvement of tourism destinations shall only succeed with investments in infrastructure for supporting tourism and touristics.

Qualification of Tourism Equipment and Services

The quality of tourism products is associated to the qualification of the services rendered and to the quality patter desired, which should be related to the consumer’s satisfaction and the presuppositions of sustainable tourism which implies the establishment of a policy encouraging the permanent improvement of quality and security of the services rendered.

This macro program seeks the excellence in the services, the assurance of accessibility by handicapped persons, to all tourism equipment and services throughout the country, the fight against child labor and the sexual child and adolescents exploration , the commitment to the sustainability of the Brazilian tourism destinations, especially regarding protection and conservation of historical and natural heritage and the promotion and valuation of artistic and cultural manifestations as the local populations heritage.

Sustainable Tourism and Infancy Program - Incentive to the Private Initiative

The importance of tourism activity as an inducer to development depends on the existence of stable funding sources to finance projects in the private sector. Based on this conviction, the Ministry of Tourism acknowledges that the country’s tourism expansion business in the country is linked to the availability and accessibility to credit.

Within this context, the National Tourism Plan has established the Program of Fomentation to Private Initiative, which acts in two sides considered fundamental to the sector’s sustainable development: the promotion of national and international investments and the incentive to the offer of credit and financing instruments.

Regionalization of Tourism

The macro program for the Regionalization of Tourism is grounded by the segmentation – of supply and demand - as a strategy for the organization of tourism for planning and management purposes, considering the conception of products, itineraries and destinations that reflect the peculiarities and specificities of each region. The touristic supply acquires more significance and identity as a result of the quality and originality of the local crafty, industrial and agricultural production, capable of aggregating value to the touristic product.

Trading Promotion and Support

The promotion of the Brazilian tourism should have as strategic concepts the consolidation of the country’s image and the diversification of touristic products, wither to the domestic market and the external market.

The marketing actions comprising publicity, the promotional and public relations actions, based on Marca Brasil, should consolidate the image of a modern, reliable, cheerful, young, hospitable country, capable of providing quality leisure , new experiences to its visitors, consummation of business. Events and incentives, making it internationally competitive. It should have as an essence the accomplishment of positive experiences of knowledge, integration and valuation of cultural and natural wealth of the country for the dissemination and promotion of a safe, qualified, diversified and sustainable tourism.
